Close on Sarin’s heels, CPI(M) eyes more significant shifts from Congress to the LDF



The Communist Party of India (Marxist) is strategically trying to attract high-profile defectors from the Congress party in order to strengthen their position ahead of critical bypolls in Kerala. They have successfully convinced a disgruntled Congress leader to join their ranks and are now eyeing another prominent leader to switch sides. The CPI(M) is aiming to capitalize on anti-incumbency sentiments and disrupt the Congress-led United Democratic Front opposition. The party believes that aligning with defectors will help expand their base and secure electoral victories.
