Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has assured the privatisation of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and three power distribution companies before the end of 2024 to tackle economic challenges faced by the country. The government also plans to privatise more state-owned enterprises under the rightsizing policy. The finance minister chairs a high-powered Right-Sizing Committee and highlighted the outsourcing of airports and restructuring of ministries. Discussions are also ongoing with Chinese authorities regarding debt re-profiling and CPEC projects. The government is taking all necessary measures to strengthen the economic sector of the country.
