Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has assured the privatisation of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and three power distribution companies before the end of 2024. The government is also planning to privatise more state-owned enterprises under the rightsizing policy. The finance minister chairs a high-powered Right-Sizing Committee constituted by the prime minister and is working on outsourcing Islamabad and Karachi airports in phases. Discussions are also being made with Chinese authorities regarding debt re-profiling and CPEC projects in the power sector. The government is taking all necessary measures to strengthen the economic sector of the country.
