Private bus operators in Rajasthan are planning to go on strike on August 27 to demand fare hikes, permit adjustments, tax relief, and operational flexibility. The key demands include increasing daily fares from Rs 2,250 to Rs 4,500 and aligning diesel prices with neighbouring states. The associations have submitted a 24-point demand letter to the state government, seeking urgent action. They are also asking for an extension of permit validity, fare exemptions for women and senior citizens, and an increase in the number of bus services in rural areas. If their demands are not met, they may consider an indefinite strike.
