The only scheduled US vice presidential debate will be between Democrat Tim Walz and Republican JD Vance on October 1 in New York City. The moderators will be Norah O’Donnell and Margaret Brennan from CBS News, and there will be no audience. Walz, the governor of Minnesota, will likely appeal to independent voters with his “regular guy” reputation and progressive agenda. Vance, a US senator from Ohio, may face questions about his rhetoric and will likely portray Walz and Harris as radical liberals. Both candidates will have to defend their running mates’ messages to voters just weeks before the election.
