US charges Hamas leadership over Oct. 7 massacre in Israel

The U.S. Department of Justice has filed criminal charges against Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar and other leaders of the terrorist organization for their involvement in the Oct. 7, 2023, massacre in Israel. The charges include conspiring to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization, resulting in death. Attorney General Merrick Garland emphasized that this is just the beginning of targeting all aspects of Hamas’ operations.
