UN Security Council adopts a cease-fire resolution aimed at ending Israel-Hamas war in Gaza

Food and goods stalls have been set up by vendors outside the damaged UNRWA building in the Jabalia refugee camp in Gaza. The UN Security Council approved a resolution endorsing a cease-fire plan to end the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza. The resolution calls for both parties to implement the plan without delay or condition. The war was sparked by a Hamas attack in Israel that resulted in casualties on both sides. The conflict has caused significant destruction and loss of life in Gaza. Previous attempts at a cease-fire during Ramadan did not succeed.
