Donald Trump announced on Saturday that his inaugural committee will be chaired by Florida real estate investor Steven Witkoff and former Georgia Sen. Kelly Loeffler, who he called “longtime friends and supporters.” Trump stated that this will be the kick-off to his administration, which will deliver on bold promises to Make America Great Again. Witkoff, who is Trump’s golf partner, was with him during a second attempted assassination in September. Trump’s first inauguration was criticized for lavish spending, with the committee raising $107 million. A deal was reached to pay Washington, D.C. $750,000 to resolve a lawsuit alleging overpayment for events at Trump’s hotel. The committee maintained that its finances were independently audited and spent in accordance with the law.
