A skull found in the walls of an Illinois home in 1978 has been identified as belonging to a teenage girl named Esther Granger, who died over 150 years ago. Esther was married at 16 and died after giving birth to her first child at 17. The coroner’s office used DNA analysis to crack the case and connect with Esther’s great-great-grandson. It is believed that Esther was a victim of grave-robbing, which was common during that era. Her descendant, Wayne Svilar, was initially skeptical but eventually accepted the news. He traveled to her burial site to give a eulogy, and she was laid to rest with an engraved stone tower.
