Prosecutors claim alleged Trump gunman wrote letter detailing ‘assassination attempt’

A man has been charged with hiding out near Donald Trump’s Florida golf course with a gun, allegedly in an attempt to assassinate the former president. The man had previously written a letter offering a bounty on Trump’s life and had a list of locations where Trump was expected to appear. The FBI is investigating the incident as an attempted assassination ahead of the presidential election. It is believed the suspect may have been motivated by Trump’s actions regarding an international nuclear deal with Iran. The man is facing charges of possession of a firearm as a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
