‘Oops’ moment for BBC: Apology issued after weather app gaffe shows ‘hurricane winds’ in London

The British Broadcasting Corporation apologized for a data fault in its weather app that caused incorrect predictions of extreme weather in London and Nottingham. The BBC Weather presenter reassured the public that there won’t be hurricane force winds or temperatures of 404°C. The BBC Weather team acknowledged the mistake and is working to fix the problem caused by incorrect data from their forecast provider. The actual forecast for the UK includes rain and drizzle in the south, with blustery showers along the east coast and wind gusts of up to 30 mph in Aberdeen. The UK is not facing hurricane-force winds like those in the United States. The Met Office mentioned that remnants of Hurricane Milton could affect UK weather patterns next week if they move into the Atlantic.
