Man who drove from Michigan arrested at Capitol with manifesto, blow torch

A man was arrested by U.S. Capitol Police for carrying a torch and flare gun, smelling like fuel at the Capitol Visitor Center. He had a 25-page manifesto and intended to deliver it to Congress. The suspect, a White male in his late 20s, drove from Michigan and was found with flammable items. Police are investigating his intentions, but there’s no indication it was related to the election. Security measures have been heightened around key DC sites and private businesses due to potential violence on and after Election Day. The suspect is being interviewed by investigators.
