Japanese NGO Nihon Hidankyo secures Nobel Peace Prize 2024 | Nobel Peace Prize



The Japanese organization Nihon Hidankyo, made up of survivors of the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, known as Hibakusha, has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for their work towards a world without nuclear weapons. The committee praised their dedication to this cause and the impact of their witness testimony. The prize, worth about $1 million, will be presented in Oslo on December 10th. This recognition highlights the importance of nuclear disarmament and the efforts of those who have experienced the devastating effects of nuclear weapons firsthand.
