Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stated that Iran and its regional allies will not back down from Israel, following an Israeli attack in Beirut targeting a Hezbollah leader. Khamenei defended Iran’s missile attacks on Israel as legal and legitimate during Friday prayers in Tehran. The missile attacks were in retaliation for Israeli strikes that killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and Hamas’ chief Ismail Haniyeh. Iran blames Israel for Haniyeh’s assassination, although Israeli officials have not claimed responsibility. Khamenei emphasized Iran’s commitment to confronting Israel and fulfilling its duty without delay.
