Iran summons Afghan envoy over anthem disrespect after similar incident in Pakistan

Iran has expressed strong dissatisfaction with a visiting Afghan official who did not stand during the national anthem at a conference in Tehran, citing it as disrespectful. The Afghan delegate later apologized, explaining that public music is banned by the Taliban. This incident follows a similar one in Pakistan, where Afghan officials did not stand for the national anthem. Both Iran and Pakistan summoned Afghan representatives to address the issue. The Afghan official in Tehran posted a video apology, stating that sitting during anthems is their custom and there was no intent to disrespect. Iran has a border with Afghanistan but has not officially recognized the Taliban government.
