Indian PM Modi unveils coalition cabinet dominated by his party

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced his new coalition government on Monday after his party lost its majority in a surprise election setback. The government includes members from various coalition allies, with key posts remaining unchanged to ensure policy continuity. Despite the dominance of Modi’s party in the cabinet, the coalition means he must seek greater consensus in parliament. The government includes seven women ministers and no Muslim lawmakers, unlike his past two governments. The new session of parliament is expected to begin next week.
