Federal agents boarded a vessel managed by the same company responsible for the cargo ship that caused the deadly Baltimore bridge collapse. The FBI, U.S. Attorney’s Office in Maryland, and other agencies are conducting law enforcement activities on the Maersk Saltoro. A lawsuit filed by the Justice Department alleges that the owner and manager of the cargo ship, Dali, recklessly ignored known electrical problems, leading to the bridge collapse. The government is seeking over $100 million in damages. The companies are being accused of engaging in reckless behavior and operating another ship in U.S. waters. The investigation is ongoing.
