Erdogan says Turkey ‘determined’ to pursue BRICS dialogue 

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan recently attended a BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia. Turkey expressed its determination to continue talks with the BRICS group, becoming the first NATO member to seek membership. Erdogan emphasized the importance of dialogue with BRICS, highlighting the alliance’s contribution to global trade and sustainable development goals. If admitted, Turkey would be the first NATO member to join an alliance that aims to counter Western powers. Erdogan criticized the current political and financial mechanisms established after World War II, stating that they are not meeting expectations.
