China lodges protest with India over Taiwan’s office in Mumbai

China has expressed its disapproval of India’s decision to open a new office of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre (TECC) of Taiwan in Mumbai. The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson stated that Taiwan is an integral part of China and that they oppose any official contact between Taiwan and countries that have diplomatic relations with China. China has lodged a diplomatic protest with India, urging them to adhere to the one-China principle and avoid any interactions with Taiwan to prevent any disruptions in the China-India relationship. The TECC in India now has three offices, with the latest one opening in Mumbai.
