Canada ‘expels’ Indian diplomats as row deepens over Khalistan leader assassination



Canada has expelled India’s High Commissioner and five other diplomats due to their alleged involvement in criminal activities targeting pro-Khalistan separatists in Canada. The Canadian national police force is set to reveal more details about the Indian government’s connection to these activities. In response, India has recalled its diplomats from Canada. The tensions between the two countries have been escalating since the assassination of Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Canada has evidence that India has been involved in other violent incidents in the country. Both countries have expelled each other’s diplomats in response to the ongoing diplomatic row.Canada has allocated $500,000 to track the expelled Indian High Commissioner’s movements to bring him to justice. Sikh leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has commended Canada’s actions and criticized the Indian diplomats for their alleged involvement in criminal activities. He also condemned an Indo-Canadian MP for his comments against pro-Khalistan activism.
