Belarus says it will investigate a Polish soldier’s death if Warsaw sends information

Belarus has expressed willingness to investigate the death of a Polish soldier who was stabbed at the border last month. However, they have not received necessary information from Poland. The soldier was stabbed at the eastern border with Belarus, and Poland has demanded that Belarus identify and hand over the perpetrator. The situation at the EU’s eastern border is tense with thousands of migrants trying to cross illegally. The soldier, Mateusz Sitek, died from a stab wound to the lung. Belarus is prepared to undertake a unilateral or joint investigation if provided with concrete information from Poland.
