At least 94 killed in fuel tanker explosion in Nigeria

A tragic incident in northwestern Nigeria has left at least 94 people dead and around 50 others injured after an overturned fuel tanker exploded. The explosion occurred as people rushed to collect fuel from the vehicle on an expressway in Jigawa State. The death toll could rise as authorities continue to assess the situation. Deadly truck accidents are unfortunately common in Nigeria, often due to reckless driving and poor road conditions. Tanker explosions like this one can lead to mass casualties, as residents try to siphon off fuel. The country’s economic crisis has made fuel a precious commodity, leading to increased risks in such situations.
