Arab foreign ministers met in Cairo and unanimously rejected the idea of transferring Palestinians from their land, in response to US President Trump’s suggestion that Egypt and Jordan take in residents of Gaza. They emphasized the importance of Palestinians’ rights and expressed the need to work towards a two-state solution for peace in the Middle East. The suggestion of Palestinians leaving Gaza has been strongly opposed by Arab states and the Palestinian leadership for years. Egypt and Jordan have also rejected Trump’s idea, with Egypt planning an international conference to rebuild Gaza.
