Vermont police department apologizes after terrifying students with mock shooting featuring fake guns

Some students experienced fear and confusion during the simulation, which was discussed with the police department. The police emphasized that the simulation was only meant for educational purposes and not to cause harm. They also reached out to the school district to ensure the well-being of the students. The program staff later responded, expressing their belief that the simulation was beneficial for the students. The police department is planning to further discuss the incident with the program supervisors and participants to address any issues and ensure a positive learning environment.
