Tropical Storm Rafael has formed in the Caribbean and is expected to become a hurricane by Tuesday. It is currently moving north with maximum sustained winds of 45 mph. The storm is the 17th named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season and may impact parts of the United States later in the week. A hurricane warning has been issued for the Cayman Islands and a tropical storm warning for Jamaica. Heavy rainfall is expected, with up to 9 inches in some areas. Minor coastal flooding and storm surge are possible, and flooding and mudslides could occur in Jamaica and Cuba.
