Tiruchi-Tambaram inter-city special train to be run till December 31

The Southern Railway has extended the ‘festival season special train’ between Tiruchi and Tambaram until December 31. The train will run five days a week, departing Tiruchi at 5.35 a.m. and reaching Tambaram at 12.30 p.m. It will depart Tambaram at 3.30 p.m. and arrive in Tiruchi at 11.35 p.m., with stops at various stations along the way. The train includes AC three-tier coaches, second class sleeper coaches, second class coaches, and sleeper class brake-cum-luggage vans. The train has been well-received by commuters associations for fulfilling the demand for an intercity train service between Tiruchi/Thanjavur and Chennai.
