Thousands of duloxetine bottles, an antidepressant sold as Cymbalta, recalled over toxic chemical

Thousands of bottles of the antidepressant duloxetine, also known as Cymbalta, have been recalled due to the presence of a toxic chemical called N-nitroso-duloxetine, which is harmful if swallowed and linked to cancer. The FDA classified the recall as Class II, meaning it could cause temporary adverse health effects. The medication was distributed nationwide and patients are advised to consult their healthcare provider if they have the affected medication. The recall covers 7,107 bottles with specific lot and expiration numbers. Duloxetine is commonly prescribed for anxiety, depression, nerve pain, fibromyalgia, and chronic pain.
