Stellantis files lawsuit against UAW, claiming union does not have right to authorize mid-contract strike



Kamala Harris recently visited Michigan, where a lawsuit was filed by Stellantis against the United Auto Workers union over a 2023 bargaining agreement. The union is fighting against potential strikes due to grievances. Stellantis claims the union acted in bad faith and violated the agreement. The UAW members at Stellantis’ Los Angeles Parts Distribution Center voted for strike authorization if grievances are not settled. The company informed workers about the lawsuit and potential revenue loss due to strikes. The union argues they have the right to strike over broken promises. Other UAW locals are also considering strike authorization. Stellantis cited market conditions for delays in production and future investments.
