Sirens sound as Yemeni missile lands in central Israel

Nine people were injured in central Israel after a ballistic missile launched from Yemen crossed into Israel, landing in an open field outside Tel Aviv. Air raid sirens sounded in the region for the first time in months, causing people to run to shelters, including at the Ben Gurion international airport. Videos showed a fire in a rural area near Tel Aviv, with smoke billowing from the ground. The injured individuals were in “mild condition” and being treated at nearby hospitals. The Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for the attack and warned of more strikes. Israel and the rebels have engaged in retaliatory strikes since the start of the conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
