Serial killer’s widow named a suspect in 1997 disappearance of teenage girl in France

Monique Olivier, who is serving life for aiding her serial killer husband Michel Fourniret, is a suspect in the 1997 disappearance of a teenage girl in France. She is being questioned by authorities after statements she made last year. Despite Olivier denying involvement, she has been placed in custody for the kidnapping of 17-year-old Cecile Vallin. Olivier has previously been convicted for complicity in her husband’s murders and was sentenced twice. The couple, who met while Fourniret was in jail, worked together to abduct and murder girls for 16 years before being caught in 2003. Fourniret died in prison in 2021.
