Safai Karamcharis panel chief holds review meeting in Villupuram

During a review meeting led by M. Venkatesan, Chairperson of the National Commission for Safai Karamcharis, the focus was on the welfare of sanitation workers. Venkatesan ensured that salaries were being disbursed properly in municipalities, town panchayats, and village panchayats. He emphasized the importance of regular medical check-ups for the workers due to the occupational hazards they face. Venkatesan also checked on the direct transfer of salaries to bank accounts and inquired about welfare deductions and ESI protection. The meeting aimed to ensure the well-being of sanitation workers, with Collector C. Palani also in attendance.
