Ryan Wesley Routh, the man accused of plotting to kill Donald Trump at his Florida golf course, pleaded not guilty to all charges in a court appearance. He appeared clean shaven and in an inmate’s outfit, with shackles on his wrists, waist, and ankles. Routh gestured to reporters and audience members during the hearing. His defense attorneys waived an official reading of charges, entered a not guilty plea, and requested a jury trial. Federal prosecutors allege that Routh attempted to kill Trump on September 15. Routh faces charges of attempted assassination, assaulting a federal officer, and weapons violations. He could face life in prison if convicted on all counts.
