Tampa Bay Rays reliever Edwin Uceta has been suspended for three games and fined for throwing at Nick Castellanos during a recent game against the Philadelphia Phillies. The manager, Kevin Cash, has also been suspended for one game. Uceta claims he did not hit Castellanos on purpose, but Castellanos felt differently, believing Uceta was upset about his performance in the game. The incident led to both benches clearing. Uceta’s suspension will begin with the next game if he does not appeal. Despite this incident, Uceta has been performing well this season with a 1.49 ERA and two saves in 25 appearances.
