RANSAF adds teeth to anti-narcotics drive by police in Ernakulam Range

The Range Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (RANSAF) has been established in the Ernakulam range to tackle the increasing cases of drug trafficking. RANSAF works alongside the District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (DANSAF) in each district to create awareness and front-end major drug cases. Officers trained in drug identification and seizures are deployed at each police station as part of RANSAF. The Kochi City police have detected 27 cases involving commercial quantities of drugs this year. DANSAF has also been strengthened with additional personnel to crack down on drug peddling networks. Inspections and checks are being conducted regularly to curb drug smuggling activities.
