POCSO case accused arrested on charge of murdering the complainant



A 43-year-old man named Shanmuganathan was arrested for allegedly murdering a woman who had previously filed a POCSO complaint against him. The woman’s body was found in a pond near Vedaranyam, and after investigation, the case was reclassified as murder. The victim, a mother of a POCSO victim, had gone to bathe in a private pond when she went missing. Shanmuganathan, who had attempted suicide on the same day, was found to be the suspect. He had a POCSO case registered against him for attempting to assault the woman’s daughter. It is believed that he murdered the woman in retaliation. Shanmuganathan was arrested and is now in custody.
