Plans to give a facelift to Muttrah Souq’s front facade

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism is planning to renovate the front facade of Muttrah Souq to address visual distortions and improve the overall appearance of this important landmark in Muscat. The project will involve studying the distortions, finding solutions, and implementing architectural designs in coordination with relevant authorities. Consulting offices and companies can participate in the tender process, with bids being accepted until October 10. Muttrah Souq is a popular tourist attraction with various sections for shopping, and plans are also in place to protect the Souq from flooding during heavy rains. This includes using dams in mountainous areas and designing channels to carry floodwaters away from the development area.
