Asian Games gold medallist Palak Gulia came in second place in the women’s air pistol event at the World University shooting championship, losing out by just 0.3 points to Heng-Yu Liu of Chinese Taipei. Arshdeep Kaur secured the bronze to keep India’s strong hold on the event. In the men’s air pistol category, Aakash Bhardwaj won silver, with Pavel Schejbal of the Czech Republic taking the top spot. Despite making it to the final, Samrat Rana and Amit Sharma were unable to make it to the podium. However, both Indian teams secured the team gold, giving the host country a good start in the competition.
