The NBA is reopening an investigation into an incident involving Lakers center Jaxson Hayes after TMZ posted a video showing him in an altercation with his then-girlfriend in 2021. The video shows Hayes pulling his girlfriend out of a doorway and spitting in her direction. Hayes was previously arrested and sentenced to probation, community service, and domestic violence classes. A lawsuit filed this week alleges that an officer involved in the incident received monetary compensation from Hayes. The Lakers are cooperating with the league’s investigation. Hayes, now 24, is currently playing for the Lakers and averaging 5.0 points and 4.2 rebounds.
