McDonalds Can No More Use The Term Big Mac For Poultry Products: Report



Did you hear the news? McDonald’s lost a legal battle against an Irish fast-food chain, which means you can no longer call your favorite burger ‘Big Mac’. The European Union court ruled against McDonald’s exclusive use of the term. Supermac’s of Ireland sought to revoke McDonald’s trademark in 2017, and recently won the case. The court ruled that McDonald’s cannot claim protection for the chicken version of the burger, but the beef one remains trademarked. McDonald’s can appeal the decision, but Supermac’s MD called it a “common sense” ruling. So next time you visit McDonald’s, remember, it’s not the ‘Big Mac’ anymore!
