The Chief Minister of Manipur, N. Biren Singh, called for an emergency meeting with MLAs from the ruling coalition to address the recent attacks on civilians by armed men in the state. The meeting, set to discuss the law and order situation, will focus on making critical decisions regarding the escalating violence. Five people were killed in fresh violence in Jiribam district, with one person shot dead in his sleep and four others killed in a clash between two communities. The legislators may also meet with the governor to address the situation.
