As the Jewish community prepares for the High Holiday season, concerns about rising antisemitism in the U.S. are on the rise following the Oct 7, 2023, terror attacks on Israel by Hamas. The FBI has reported a significant increase in antisemitic hate crimes since the attack. In response, the Community Security Service (CSS) has seen growth in volunteers and partnerships to ensure the safety of Jewish institutions, especially on college campuses. Despite various threats, including homegrown extremism and radical Islamic groups, CSS volunteers are working with law enforcement to protect Jewish community members during Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
