House panel finds Trump assassination event “preventable” in interim report



A bipartisan House task force investigating the assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump has found that the incident was preventable, citing communication and planning shortcomings. The panel’s interim report outlined the lack of planning and coordination between the Secret Service and law enforcement partners prior to the rally on July 13. The task force, made up of seven Republicans and six Democrats, is working to prevent a similar attack from occurring in the future and will submit a final report of its findings by December 13.
