HC closes suo motu case

The Madras High Court closed a case regarding a woman who was reportedly picked up by a gang after an inter-caste marriage and found hanging in Tiruvallur district. The court took up the case based on a lawyer’s mentioning but closed it after the State Public Prosecutor confirmed that no such incident had occurred. The judges warned the lawyer against wasting the court’s time with false submissions.
