To mark World Alzheimer’s Day 2024, Dementia India Alliance organized a workshop on Dementia Risk Reduction in collaboration with other organizations. With the number of dementia cases on the rise in India, preventive strategies are more important than ever. A recent report suggests that managing various risk factors can delay or prevent up to 45% of dementia cases. The workshop, attended by over 100 participants, focused on managing lifestyle and vascular risk factors, addressing loneliness and depression, treating hearing loss, and promoting healthy aging through practices like yoga. These initiatives aim to raise awareness about practices that can promote better health, cognition, and healthy aging.
