Farmers block roads in Nagapattinam demanding crop insurance compensation

Farmers in Tamil Nadu, particularly in Delta districts like Nagapattinam, are protesting against the delay in receiving compensation for crop losses under the government’s insurance scheme. The Tamil Nadu Cauvery Farmers Association led the protest, with General Secretary P.R. Pandian at the forefront. Over 100 protesters, including Pandian, were taken into custody but later released.
