Environment-friendly industries can come up in delta: Minister

Industries that are not harmful to the environment may be established in delta districts, which are designated as a “protected agricultural zone,” according to Minister for Industries T.R.B. Rajaa. The initiative to set up an industrial estate in Sengipatti by SIPCOT has received positive feedback from various industries. Alongside agriculture-related industries, other environmentally-friendly industries may also be developed in delta districts. The TIDEL Neo Park in Thanjavur has seen all its space occupied within 15 days of opening, prompting calls for another similar park to create more job opportunities.
