Elon Musk’s X back online in Brazil after receiving court clearance

The Federal Supreme Court in Brazil suspended Elon Musk’s social network, X, for failing to comply with orders to block accounts of those being investigated by the Brazilian justice system. After a months-long standoff with the court, X is now back up and running in Brazil. The company stated that it will continue to defend freedom of speech within the boundaries of the law. Brazil’s strict internet regulations aim to limit hate speech, incitement to violence, and political misinformation online. Musk initially resisted the court’s requests, but eventually complied after facing pressure from investors and the threat of fines. Competitors gained users during X’s suspension, but users are now regaining access to the platform.
