The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in Oman has reported that over 1 million visitors traveled to the Dhofar Governorate this year, marking an increase of 8.7% from the previous year. Most of the visitors were Omanis, followed by GCC nationals and other nationalities. The number of visitors coming by flight also increased, with August being the busiest month. Overall, Oman received 2.3 million visitors in the first seven months of 2024, with Emiratis, Indians, Yemenis, and Germans being the top nationalities among visitors. There are also thousands of Omanis and expatriates employed in hotels in the country.
