Dhofar receives 1 million khareef visitors

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in Oman reported that over 1 million visitors traveled to the Dhofar Governorate during the Khareef season this year, an increase of 8.7% from last year. Most visitors were Omanis, followed by GCC nationals and other nationalities. The number of visitors coming by flight and road also increased. The Sultanate of Oman received 2.3 million visitors in the first seven months of 2024, with Emiratis, Indians, and Yemenis being among the top nationalities. Around 4.7 million visitors left the country during the same period. There are also a significant number of Omanis and expatriates employed in hotels in Oman.
