Darjeeling-based man arrested in connection to bomb threat emails received by Bengaluru colleges

A 48-year-old man named Dipanjan Mitra from Darjeeling was arrested by the V.V. Puram police for sending bomb threat emails to two colleges in Bengaluru. The police used technology to track him down in Darjeeling, where he admitted to sending the emails and being involved in similar cases in West Bengal. The police are investigating his role in other cases in Bengaluru, but it appears that he has no connection to Karnataka and his motive seems to be mischief. Although the police sought a transit warrant, the accused was released on bail and has been asked to appear for further investigation.
