Civic authorities racing against time to save Central funds for Edakochi STP

The Kochi Corporation is working hard to complete the sewage treatment project at Edakochi before the December 31 deadline to avoid losing Central funding. Only 40% of the project is complete due to initial delays, but the Corporation is seeking an extension while also ensuring funds are utilized efficiently. Road restoration works will be funded from the Central share, saving money that would have otherwise lapsed. The project will benefit over 2,200 households in Division 16 by treating wastewater and providing recycled water for construction use.
